Luke Shaw facing SIX MONTHS out after horror injury, reveals LVG

first_img Luke Shaw 1 Louis van Gaal is expecting Luke Shaw to be out for at least six months after the Manchester United full-back suffered a horror injury on Tuesday night.Shaw needed nine minutes of treatment on the pitch during the Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven and required oxygen following a heavy challenge from Hector Moreno.United later confirmed that the 20-year-old had suffered a double leg fracture, and Van Gaal is now preparing to be without the England international for the majority of the season.“It’s awful,” said Van Gaal. “The boy comes at 18 to Manchester, has a very difficult season and next season plays fantastic and then this happens.“I’m not a doctor, so I cannot say, but when you have a double fracture it is [out] for six months to see how it develops. When he came into the dressing room, he had an oxygen mask and was crying.“He won’t play in the group stage, I don’t think. I hope he can play again this season.”Van Gaal was clearly unhappy with the challenge on Shaw – which went unpunished – but refused to condemn Moreno, who played for him at AZ.“If I say it is a penalty and a red card I am a bad loser, every word is interpreted in the wrong way,” he said.“But it was a very bad tackle with two legs.”last_img
